A project that reimagines vehicle UX/UI through Smart Tiles. With a strong emphasis on modularity and user-centricity, our design process for mOSaic involved XR testing using DigiPHY.
Mosaic OS is a transdisciplinary vision on contemporary 2D HMI
Following the studio's transdisciplinary approach, we combined user research & benchmarking, interaction design, XR prototyping with DigiPHY, and digital marketing. It is this synergy that paved the way for finding solutions that help solve some of today's challenges in the automotive industry that were unveiled during Granstudio’s research phase.

One of these challenges is the lack of personalization according to user preferences in current HMI systems, unlike what where used to from our mobile devices. That's why we designed a platform that is adaptable and flexible, making it easy for you to tailor your experience exactly the way you want it.
Smart Tiles: the heart of mOSaic
The Smart Tiles are the main feature that sets the interface apart. Similar to a traditional mosaic, the mOSaic interface is constructed using tiles that combine harmoniously to form a captivating panel. With four sizes to choose from (XS to L) and the freedom to position them wherever on the grid, users have endless possibilities to adapt the interface to their priorities and preferences.

Flexible Integration
Device inter-connectivity enables users to pair their smartphones, smart homes and personal accounts with the interface, fostering seamless integration. But also, mOSaic facilitates the connection between the Cluster and the Central Display, offering a sharing option. mOSaic can seamlessly integrate with emerging technologies, adapting to the ever-evolving digital landscape. The modularity of mOSaic ensures flexibility and scalability, allowing it to adapt to changing user preferences and industry trends.

XR Prototyping
Through XR prototyping for testing, we used DigiPHY to provide testing support to the HMI team. By seamlessly mirroring the physical and VR screen Mixed Reality technology enabled us to assess dimensions and usability with utmost precision. This immersive experience not only made it easier to evaluate design aspects in detail, but also made the transition from physical to digital realms a whole lot smoother. The result was a more efficient and effective design process.
